    problem starting mysql server

    Hi all . I installed mysql with apache but after a while mysql stoped starting . I even reinstalled both mysql and apache but still i can not start mysql. phpmyadmin is working but it does not show my databases!!could any one tell me how to fix this problem.Thanks

    You didn't mention what platform you are on.
    If you have Firewall installed on your computer, that can sometimes make it hard to run the installation of MYSQL beta version on Windows XP sucessfully.
    I recommend you reinstall MYSQL again and be sure that the installation was successful. You should be able to run and restart it successfully.

    If you want an all in one easy to install web server check out Xampp.

    Thank u for u reply. I am running apache with mysql on xp pro. No fire wall only i used Tune up utiliites may be that caused the problem. But i re installed in another folder a new apache and mysql and it has the same problem.The apache starts and phpmyadmin does not show all my db!!

    Well i am using Wamp so it should be simmiler!! I re installed a new version of in another folder and same problem still.
