Well here's what I do:
1. Find a good mate
2. Visit pub
3. Drink heavily until you get chucked out
4. Go home and continue drinking
5. (optional) sleep and eat a little
6. Goto 2

Oh yes, and when I finally broke out of that loop, I decided to avoid the ex for the rest of my life. 6 months, so far so good.

Do things you like.
Whenever I was without a special person, I engaged in activities I enjoyed, and let nature take its course.
For me that meant skiing, piano bars, going to bridge tournaments, going to a computer show, working out at a health club, playing tennis. If you ski, the apres ski activities are great for meeting people, if you do not happen to meet anybody on the slopes or at the lifts.
For you it might mean church activities, folk dancing, jogging, a musical event, getting drunk at the local bar/pub, whatever.
Whenever I went some place for the purpose of finding female companionship, it ended up one of two ways- Time wasted and minor ego damage, no luck with the women there.
- Brief fling with a woman who might have been interesting to somebody else.
When I go for activities I like to do, I end up with one of the following- Enjoyed myself doing whatever, and did not really mind not finding a female companion.
- Just met a girl that I can enjoy being with. I hope it works out.
I met my current special person at a bridge tournament. We play bridge and golf together and she happens to be computer literate as well.
The basic male/female activities work with anybody. Some even enjoy sheep and rubber dolls. The problem is finding somebody with some of the same interests you have. You find a person with interests in common by doing things you like to do and finding somebody there doing the same thing.

I think Harry's got the right idea. Find a good mate and get pissed. Find as many faults in your ex- as possible and exagerate them, have a good laugh at her expense. Does wonders. Me and Harry have had quite a few laughs about his ex-
Oh and drink as much JD and Coke in a night as posible. I think My record is 1/2 a bottle (of JD 70cl) but that was because my best mate had just bought me a katana for christmas. Oh buy a katana for yourself. They are really cool.

Not a Jack man myself, Jimmy or George will do just fine. For some reason a katana and alcohol seem like a bad combination, maybe I'm just not thinking about it the right way, I think I'll just buy a Playstation game and write some more controls.

Jon, how about you join the clan of the rusty spoon?
I'm not part of it anymore, but I'm sure they would welcome you.. but you must provide your own rusty spoon.

Katanas (or should that be Katani) and alcohol don't mix?, of course they do, but only if you want to kill or maim someone in a drunken haze

I'm a sad, sad, sad, sorry sum b*tch, no doubt, ever heard that song 'I drink alone' by George Thorogood, that's me.
As far as the clan is concerned, sure I'll join (just as long as I don't have to point my spoon towards mecca and pray to the omnipitent spoon god(dess)). I won't be a very loyal member though unfortunately (read the Dearly Departed thread). I just have one question though, how do you make a spoon rust?

OK, this is going to sound really bad coming from my mouth, but I think you need to pick out a rebound girlfriend. That's what I did to get over the first guy I really fell hard for, and it kept my mind off of the other person.

SHANEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How would you like to be the rebound girlfriend???
What you need to do is find someone who isn't looking to be a girlfriend at all and just have fun with her....that way both of you get a few kicks and no one gets hurt!!

Sorry!!!! I knew that was going to sound bad. I am marrying the second guy I fell hard for, so I didn't get much experience in the recovery department! But, Katie's right, but just don't date some floozy, or otherwise the girls you may really like might not want to date you after that.

I will try to explain the Jamagei thing some more:
My fiancee Mike has a sister, let's call her Beatrice. (He He) Beatrice is married to a guy, let's call him Jack. Therefore, Jamagei looks like Jack.

Geocities is crap and doesn't allow people to link from it from outside a geocities site....
after you open the window, press the 'go' button on IE.... or press F6 + Enter.
