    This is an easy one......

The original film maker is in it for art and money.

The sequel film maker is in it for money...period!

true, but if they have made lots of money from the first one, you'd think they'd make 2 just as good so people didn't slag them off, and say they were in it for the money

    Talking

ooh ooh ooh, Mission impossible 2 was much better than the original (admitted MI1 couldn't have been much worse) but MI2 was pretty good.

Yeah but the plot in MI1 was like a bucket of s**t from china (far fetched)

Alright so neither were all that great but there must be some films out there were the sequel is better, surely.

It's hard to do a exceptionnel sequel to an exceptionnel film.....
I mean...If the first movie was a great one, well ppl expect a lot of the sequel, maybe 2 much! The sequel has to be 2 times better then the original, because ppl expect more! Some sequel are practicly excellent, but not extraordinary as the public was expecting! Good sequel: GodFather I and II (not the III one though), Alien 1 and 2...and that's about it!! I'm anchious to see Matrix 2 and Jurassic Park 3!! Will the be good sequel...time will tell us

yeah but jurassic park 3 is not gonna be directed by spielberg, so it's a loss already. although JP2 was, and that was crap

I thought star wars trilogy was pretty good in that the second one and third one weren't a disappointment

I only know of the Alien/Aliens/Alien3/Alien Resurrection quadogy (?) where the sequels are any good.

I'll probably be bending over next but I always enjoyed the Back to the Future series, and 2010 was a helluva lot better than 2001, in my opinion anyways.

Evil Dead 3 was better than the others I think. Also, Hellraiser: Bloodline is better than the first 3. Haven't seen the fifth though.

Even though i am a HUGE Blues Brothers fan, i have to say that the second one was no where near the masterpiece which was the first movie.
