Well I'll start you off with something:
I've been listening to Nothingface - Can't Wait For Violence a lot recently, anybody know it?
I've also decided I'm a riff *****.

Me too! Sometimes a song can be complete crap as far as lyrics and then they have an awesome riff and they've got me....
I haven't heard NothingFace...I'll have to check them out.

Riff *****?
Something tells me (as I don't recognise those bands) that they are heavy rock/punk type bands.
Would I be correct in that assumption?

You would to an extent. It's more metal.

First post
Hi all, this is my first post, it looks bad that I choose to send my first post to a music thread and not one this board was really put up for, but hey I do play the drums and thats far more fun than coding.
I've been listenning to Red Snapper - Our Aim Is To Satisfy and Chick Corea - Paint the world recently along with slipping in some Incubus, Primus and Ozrics when the desire to riff out takes hold.

Welcom Wavey.....Chick Corea is pretty amazing...I don't care much for Incubus...maybe I haven't listened to the right songs though since I've only heard them on the radio....maybe I should listen again...do you have a song to suggest?

Hi barrk
Incubus don't really vary much so if you not into them I can't really think of any songs that might change that, so maybe save that precious listening time for other stuff, all said my Favourites S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
Actually listening to paint the world now.

I like Drive, by Incubus, but that may be one you've heard. I hear it on the radio all the time.
I'm a riff ***** too. I like over 25% of the music I 've heard, because of little riffs.

Yes,
Red Snapper and the Ozrics are good.
I saw Red Snapper live about four years ago in a dance tent in Cornwall (Surfers Against Sewage) festival. Very good.

...lovely...
Cheers for the thread, but I'm still an entire weekend late...Never mind.
Incubus - try New Skin, or A Certain Shade of Green from the SCIENCE album.
I bought Apartment 26's Hallucinating and Stone Temple Pilot's No. 4 yesterday. Both above average albums.
Been enjoying Therapy?'s Nurse album lately too.
Anyone for Pitchshifter?, Tool?, or Deftones?
Harry - do you know of Pulkas? (recently defunct British metal band) they're quite cool too.

Deftones are probably my favourite band actually. Tool are pretty good too, haven't listened to much Pitchshifter although I've heard a lot of talk about them. I'll check out Pulkas.
As far as Incubus goes, I like 'Stellar'.
Harry.

If you like Pitchshifter and NIN, check out Apartment 26. Quite well structured, not particularly original, but fun nevertheless.
How about Pantera, Fear Factory, possibly even early Korn?
Sepultura circa "Roots",
Obviously Nirvana / Pearl Jam

The lead singer from Tool is now in A Perfect Circle. APC is still playing college venues over here so I doubt if they will be touring outside the US anytime soon. They are definitely worth listening to though!

Yeah Maynard James something I think his name is. They're pretty good. He hasn't left Tool, APC is just a side project band AFAIK.
Pantera, Fear Factory, Sepultura... sounds like my Napster playlist

APC are good, but I've only heard a bit (keep forgetting to pick up the album). I think thats why I'm into tool at the moment, Maynard (James Keenan)'s voice is incredible, isnt it.

tearing off tights with my teeth,
but there's no peace, or release
i toos and turn with out cease
like a curse over my eyes
i rise like yeast
at least a couple of nights since i last slept
kept taking sleepers now i keep myself pepped
deeper still the night
i write by candle light
i find insight

Yo, I used to check out lyrics upon the format
Build with skill with technique. Computer A-DAT
My lyrical form is clouds on your brainstorm
I get hyped think thought flow. Acrobat, sink the track, pump the track
Dance missions, clubs like spores react by. Strong visions
And hurrying more. Reflects on the dancefloor
Flow it up and having now people showing up
Packing crowds jam packed venues
Needles collapse, while atmosphere continues
Sprinkle that,
Winnin' like that, movin'like that, hittin' like that
The melody is phat
Yeah, I'm on the energy source
The cosmic force
With Prodigy
Kicking astrology
My intellect's the power
With Diesel Power
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
Blows your mind drastically, fanta..
We spin back rewind. Diesel Power
Blows your mind drastically, fantasically
It has to be, automatically
Check it out. You better work it out
Change it to another route
My techniques, strategies, abilities.
I leave cords of mikes hanging like Spring Lees
You would try so fast. Beyond the human eye
Lyrical tactics, vocal gymnastics
Ease and pepped up
You get swept up
Smacked up, backed up, your crew's all cracked up
Checking flow
Quick choose quick
You can't stick
My medical brain's a stranger's angles
You get tangled. Twisting side effects us
Channels repeat, complete. Can't compete
Check that our texture
Mind adventure
Exploit the point
It attracts to devour
My intellectual seed
With diesel power
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
Blows your mind drastically, fanta...
Back attack
And wack patch you're faxing me
You don't want none
High quality acts should be still standing
Damaging your other manic
Quick reverse
Bolting as the first verse
My amplifier blows on your world's higher
World's sire
Cuts like a barbed wire
Record play
I pull up on you every day
Fast forward
I move And I swings forward
Exit load
Put your brain in right mode
Selected mix
The man with perfected fix has lightly bite me
Copy zimmer. Cops' handblocks
You can't knocks some out there
I've been lifting,shifting, persisting
Intelligent kingpin
Keep the strategy
As I roll with Prodigy
With Diesel Power
Blows your mind drastically, fantastically
