this is my asp.net 2005 DTP control, check it with me (ROBDOG Needed)
Dear all , specially ROBDOG
as we discussed before, i tried to make a web composite control to simulate the windows dtp control. it looks awful but it works.
my problem is that i am using a calender to allow day selection. i switch it's visibility from true to false. when it is shown all the page is stretched down (leaving a gap). is there anyway that i can show the dtp layered over the other controls on the page ?????
also please feel free to use it in your asp 2005 application (all of you) and i would like to hear any comments or receommendations, modifications anyone may have.
i am attaching the source code of the whole asp.net web site project in this zip file.
Thank you in advance

Re: this is my asp.net 2005 DTP control, check it with me (ROBDOG Needed)
well the control is written using visual basic.net 2005, so it's coding is all visual basic. and also while i am searching for solution over this forums. i found several threads in visual basic.net section that discuss the same issue.
i dont know who is the moedrator but if he sees that its right place is asp.net , i agree to move it.
sorry if i misplaced it.

I dont really like web development either.
I dont have 2005 installed yet, , but I can read the code via notepad. I really need to be able to see it in action in order to comment.

i didn't use anything from the vs2005 special commands, (i think)
do you think the same code is applicable on vs2003 ???
i can grant you some screen shots, but i recommend that you install vs2005
it is really nice (until this moment ).

Let me try importing the control into a 03 solution. I dont want to install 05 yet as I need to make a backup of my drive first and replace the mirrored drive with a new one as one had died.

Rob you should just install winrar, its faster than winzip (imo) and it handles rar and zip formats...
I used to be a winzip fan, but I have moved over to the winrar bandwagon

Well my version of WinZip doesnt have the nag screen and if I change to WinRar I assume it will have one.
Doing this web app currently and its taking all my time. I cant even take the time to post more then 10 posts a day vs. my usual of about 50.
Matt, did you try the dtp control?

Dear jmcilhinney,
if you have a spare time, can you check this control for me.
i was counting on robdog but it seems he is so busy and also he didn't have vs2005.
i need to know if it's possible to layout the calender over the controls and not before them
thx in advance and sorry for bothering you
.
