What is the difference between .NET 2005 and visual studio 2005?
Hi,
What is the difference between .NET 2005 and visual studio 2005? Both are same or not? What is the purpose of two things.

.NET is the technology. It's the entire framework of runtime files your app needs to run.
Visual Studio is the IDE you use to develop your app.

There's no such thing as .NET 2005. The Visual Studio 2005 IDE leverages version 2.0 of the .NET Framework.

Visual Studio .NET 2005 is a suite of apps like VB, C#, C++, J# etc. .NET 2005 is just an abbreviation for this.

Re: What is the difference between .NET 2005 and visual studio 2005?
The .NET moniker has been dropped from all the the 2005 languages and IDEs. It's just VB 2005, Visual Studio 2005, etc. They all leverage the .NET platform, which is now at version 2.0. You can use the terminology interchangeably and people will know what you mean but that's the offical story.
