    I would need a

    control for displaying and editing ascii text like in edit.com or other console apps.

    or if not then

    code for converting between ascii text and some sort of text with escape characters representing those characters the textbox control doesn't display lik e vbnullchar and vbcrlf, vbtab and so on.

    or if not then

    a list of the characters that doesn't display in a textbox

    reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13

    Hi Kedaman,

    I was going to post the table here but the HTML is OFF so i've attached the table in html form and renamed as txt

    I guess for the non printing/non visible charcters you would have to device some type of script to pick out pre-defined descriptions (defined by you - ie something along the lines of ASC(13) = vbCrLf)

    and then depending on what character is read display the relavent info in a seperate area - like the status bar)

    The range of non-printing/non visible characters is 0 to 31 and then the range 128 to 255 are the extended characters, according to font.
