    Compatibility Quick Question

Ok basicly I'm working with an idea to set up somthing but i need to make the program I distribute avalible to as many people as possible and run in the background of the users PC

Now between Vb.Net 2005 and Vb6 which would,

    1) Run with less overheads (so not interfering too much with users PC)
    2) reacha wider audience, is .Net compatible with 95? 98?

    Thanks

    Re: Compatibility Quick Question

    1. It depends on what you're doing. Both the .Net framework and the Runtime are installed and don't do much on the computer until your program accesses them. .Net will work well with 64-bit OSes and future OSes that might be even higher but VB6 won't run on some of the newer OSes because of it's age.

    2. .Net will work fine on Windows 98. Anything earlier and you won't be able to get .Net installed (but you may be able to get Mono to install).
