Payment Processing [resolved]
I would like to put a payment function on my site. What I mean by this is that people that come to my site, they sign up for a subscription, they give me their credit card info. There is a signup fee, so they would get charged upfront right away, then there is a monthly usage fee, that is different based on how much you use the service. There usage goes into my database. Now for the payment part, i would like to have a system that would run once a month in which it would look at the peoples usage and then charge the appropriate amount to their credit card. Is there a service out there that would allow me to do this easily. I looked at paypal but they have recurring subscriptions but that is a fixed amount and not different for everyone that i would be chargeing. It also makes the users sign up for paypal if they dont have an account. I would like to set something up where you dont have to sign up for nothing if you are using my payment option. And where it can charge on a monthly basis.
Does anyone have any ideas? What can I use?
Thanks for your help

Re: Payment Processing
If you use the Paypal SDk, via PHP ASP.NET and Java, the users do not have to register with paypal and you can also take what ever amount of payments when you want.

Re: Payment Processing
Verisign is another leading payment processing service. Probably #1 and has 2 levels of service. Standard and Premuim, they are not cheap but if you want #1 then it will cost a bit but you can pass it to your customers with just a very small fee of $0.25 or so depending on your volume of traffic.

Re: Payment Processing
Verisign is a bit expensive for what I am trying to do now. I am just starting out to see how all this will go. So I would like to stay about from the big processing companies.
john, I am going to look into the SDK option since I am coding the page in ASP.

Re: Payment Processing
Verisign has a level for $400 a year and you get 500 transactions per month. Less then 7 cents per transaction.

Re: Payment Processing
I see, well now I am looking at about 25 transactions per month, so its still turning out to be a bit expensive.

Re: Payment Processing
Yes, about $1.25 per transaction. Unless your charging them a good amount for your services?
