[RESOLVED] System restarts !!!!!

os is xp sp-2 and have a p4 3 ghz.. and 865gbf mother board..... the problem that has been recurring for the past three months is that system automatically restarts without any warning.... And upon relogging up come a message saying "windows has recovered froma very serious error".... so plzzz lemme know hat is worng???.. it doesnt follow a particular pattern though!!!!

Have a look in the event log. This is in Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Event Log. The error should be detailed fully there.

if the event log doesn help you for some reason check a few things
1) processor temp bc sometimes a system will restart if the processor is too hot
2) viruses thre have been few occasions where a viruses make a computer restart
3) if you put any new hardware additions they might be the problem try taking out any new aditions and putting the old ones back
