client conencting to server
Hi, I am using VB.NET.
Beside I init a socket connection / HTTP to connect to the server, what other ways to connect to a remote system? What I mean is that on the server system i do not need to implement a socket server/HTTP server
regards,

Re: client conencting to server
There has to be something at the server end for you to communicate with. If you're using HTTP then presumably that will be the existing Web server.

Re: client conencting to server
If you're connecting to a fully-fledged RDBMS then that IS the server. In the case of access though, it's just a data file that the Jet engine on your machine opens a copy of locally to work on. You simply create a connection string that has the appropriate path for the MDB file and let Jet do the rest. Just make sure you're using ADO.NET and not ADO.
