    SMS interface

    Hi All,

I was wondering whether anyone knows how I can send an SMS message to my computer, either by having a mobile phone connected to it, or some sort of special GSM card. The phone is probably easier. I then need to read what the SMS message is all about, and do some appropriate action.

If anyone has any ideas, please share them with me.

    Thanks,

    Crusader

To send or receive SMS from your computer, you need a service provider like ICQ...(Free)

To receive, probably, but to send? Nope. To send SMS all you need to do is be able to send e-mail.

Many cell phone carriers have e-mail addresses you can send a message to and it's automatically sent to a phone via SMS.

    It goes something like this:

    T-Mobile: [email protected]
    Virgin Mobile: [email protected]
    Cingular: [email protected]
    Sprint: [email protected]
    Verizon: [email protected]
    Nextel: [email protected]

I've tried it and it works great.

I know that... you already posted that. I was offering a simplier alternative.
