Changing a picture in the report header
Hello all.
Firstly .. I am a complete noob to Crystal Reports, so not sure if this is an easy question or not. I'm using version 9.
I have a report that has a logo in the page header area.
When a field changes a value in a group header I have got, I want the picture to change accordingly, i.e. If value in group header = '01' then show picture A, if value in group header switches to '02' then show picture B etc etc.
Can I do this ?
I've been trying all afternoon, and have looked here and googled it, but can't find anything that helps.
Like I said, I only started Crystal Reports today, so if this IS something easy then please excuse my ignorance.
Any help much appreciated .....

Never tried it myself, but see if this link helps:

The Crystal KB is a great resource... check it out at

Re: Changing a picture in the report header
Thanks for that pnish.
I tried one of those links as it supplied an example vb app that plays with cr reports.
Trouble is the zip file didn't come with "crviewer.dll", and this seems to be integral to making the thing work.
For some weird reason I am having trouble finding it when I google too ?!?!

Re: Changing a picture in the report header
Well after a bit of research it seems I can do it.
I need to have a BLOB on my report, and pass the relevant picture from a database.
Now .... my next question is ... how on earth do I store/retrieve images from a SQL Server database ?
I can create a table OK, and I can define a field as "Image" type, but I was expecting to haev to enter a pathname for the location of the image. Seems you store the image actually in the db, and I get the feeling I am going to need some kind of script to actually store/retrieve them.
Anyone able to throw any more light on this ?
