Hi all, i'm about to pick my classes for 9th grade for next year. Now I'm wondering if I should take Biology X or Biology A. (X is a more advanced course) I just would like to know..... what is biology? what are we gonna do? is it like DNA and stuff?

Right now in Intensified Biology, I am studying the inducers, promoters, operons, operators, etc. of a gene cluster. We've been studying Chromosomes all year. Last week we finished studying genetic mutations.

Also.... on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being easy as algebra to 10 being as hard as Calculis 5 how would you grade Bilology?

I am in 9th grade right now. And I can't follow that scale, because Biology is not a maths subject. If you pay attention in class, you should pass Biology pretty easily, but if you just sleep through it, you're going to fail, which is how it is with most classes, but there are some very confusing things in Biology. Biology is also very very boring. I am going to be so happy when I finally get into Chemistry next year.

I'm not sure if I want to go with the A or X level
because I think I can manage the X level, but it requires 1 hour after school every week (mandatory) so i'm not sure.
BTW, I'm gonna take
Geometry X
Civics X
English A
French 2 A
(and some other mandatory classes)

My class doesn't require an hour after school every week. Thank God.
And, what is Civics? A Social Study?

I don't have to take any of that.
These are the required social study courses:
Geography
World History
US History
US Gov't
Required Sciences:
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
1 more lab course
Maths:
Algebra 1
2 more courses above Alg. 1
I think I am going to take Algebra 2 and, if time Trigonometry over the summer, then I can take calculus in my Sophomore year. That would be so cool
*Ahem*
Oops.. didn't mean to get off subject...
