    Visual Studio 6 Setup Error

I have just got done formatting and ipon installation of VS6 when it begins loading up after you click "OK" to the Common Files stuff, it errors "Cannot read from device" then after that follows another error saying "There is insufficient memory or disk space to run setup. The setup program requires about 2000kb of free space. Try closing any open applications, restarting Windows, or freeing some disk space."

Now, the problem is that I have 25.3GB of free space and 1GB of RAM. I have also restarted numerious times.

This has never happened before until now. What could the problem be?

Is this an official genuine version of VS? It may be a bad CD or HD?

Can you install it on a different PC with no problems?

If so, then RobDog888 is right on the money.

    Sure why not.

It never done this before. All other CD's run and work fine. So I don't think it's the HD - it must be the CD itself.

If its not an old purchase you need to return it for a replacement CD. If its old then you may need to buy it again.
