Thanks Guys!
I just thought I'd write a note of thanks i thsi forum here
As you've probably all noticed from my postings in here, I'm only an 'erratic' Visual Basic programmer. It's not my main 'job', but I do get the occasional project where I have to use Visual Basic to put something together.
As such. my knowledge of VB can get a little rusty so to speak. Which is why I use this site quite a lot when I have one of these projects, coz it's the best site I've found to use as a VB reference.
There have been times when I've asked questions where the answer has been pretty damn obvious and when I get told the answer it hits me like a lead weight falling from 10,000 feet. Thanks guys for not making me feel like an idiot - there are so many forums where they'd make someone feel like an idiot for asking a simple question. I'm not stupid, really, it's more than likely I haven't used VB in such a long time that I've forgotten and just need to be reminded.
And there are a couple of times when I realised later that I could have got the answer by doing a bit more searching - thanks guys for putting up with what seem to be repetitive questions sometimes!!!
Keep up the good work - this is a great reference forum.

Re: Thanks Guys!
Thanks for the kind words. We try hard to make this a helpful, friendly place and it's nice to know that it's appreciated.

More over, we take a very dim view of anyone making someone else feel stupid. If that ever does happen, just send one of us a PM and it will be dealt with.
Glad to have you on board and tell your friends and family about us!

Re: Thanks Guys!
One of the things VBF really has going for it is its welcoming atmosphere. All programmers both experienced, novice and beginner make simple, obvious mistakes. Sometimes all is required is an eye from the outside to make everything clear again.
Never be ashamed to ask a question that may have an obvious answer, after all, that is how we learn and more importantly, what we learn can then be passed on to other people as help.

Doing some serious marketing there, eh? Friends are ok, but family? If I were to tell my family about visiting this site they would probably throw me out
ok, that was a joke just in case....
dogwomble, I came here when I was an advanced beginner in VB and I found lots of things here to enrich my vb reportoire. And so far I have yet to get scolded for something I was too lazy to search. The guys are pretty cool and I guess over the years everybody (including the contributing members) has been doing a super job.
