Thread: MFC compile problem

    Question

    Hi.

    When I start at new MFC project and try to compile it these messages shows up: "Error in link.exe, can't execute link.exe" and "Tool execution cancled by user."
    I have tried to replace my Link.exe that I got from a person that MFC worked for but it didnt work.
    Does anyone know whats wrong?

    Hmm not sure but I get this error sometimes when the program is run and then not closed. You might check task manager and make sure you done have your program just unclosed and hanging out there.

    Also if you havent already you might want to restart your comp.

    You also might want to reinstall your version of VC++ and SP4 if you have MSVC.

    Other than that I dont have much else for you and I dont see that as an error in MSDN or Technet
