    Merging images into 1

    I'm trying to merge 2 images into 1, but I can't seem to get it to work. How do I merge 2 images into 1?

    How do you want to "merge" them? Side by side, up/down, ...?

    I want 1 image to go over the top of another but faded out a little. Both images are the same size.

    I found a program that does what I'm looking to do on planetsourcecode.com that does photoshop layers demo, but now how do I save the image after I merged them together?
