Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
Are you using systems that you have logged in to VBF before? You can try logging out and deleting all your cookies and offline files and close all browser windows first.
Then try relogging back in and see if it works.

All I do is pretty much what Rob says; just delete the cookies, log back in, and life is good again.
Does this happen more often then when we upgrade the site?

Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
Yes, it happened only after the upgrade for me, but only happened once. Once I deleted all cookies and off-lines files with all browser instances closed, it worked.
I believe there was a change in one of the cookies that isnt compatible with the older cookie.

Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
I can second the notion of deleting the FireFox cookies (or is it third or fourth)... worked for me as well. Just did it one time after the upgrade, and all is well after that. There are multiple cookies, make sure you get em all...
Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
Since he's using Firefox, either Ctrl+Shift+Delete to clear private data, or if you don't want to lose them all you can use the Cookie Manager to delete individual cookies.
Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
Also happened to me after the upgrade.
But I didn't have to delete my cookies.
It just didn't recognize me, but once I logged in with remember me, it was fine ever since.

Yeah, same here. I clear my cookies and everything is fine for a while, then it goes flippy again, and I clear my cookies again, etc etc. But, the cookie cleaning needs to be done on a much more frequent basis than before.
To me, this isn't so much a complaint as it is an observation. It takes all of about a second and a half to clean out my cookies, so no big deal.

Nope, I'm doing it three, four times a week.
Now, I'm not completely sure if it is forum specific, or something wierd about the way this company has configured its internet access. That, really, is the reason I've never mentioned it before. Until now, I'd not seen anyone else with a similiar problem, so I was leaning toward something being a bit bollexed up on my end.
Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
About the only issue I get is when I have the site up for more then 24 hours or so and the threads I view do not get marked as read. I have to log out, close all IE windows, and clear all cookies for it to work correctly again.

Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
I'm getting some issues with the marking of viewed threads not getting marked even if I log out close all windows and relog back in. Could be because I had my IE windows open for days now lol. I had to clear all my cookies and it was fixed. I really didnt want to clear them but oh well.

I'm guessing that at the very least, this would be a contributing factor.
Non browser comment: I've always found it "unhealthy" to go more than 24 hours without rebooting any laptops or desktops running any version of windows. Even many network admins that I know schedule a server reboot for at least once a month.
Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
I havent rebooted my systems for more then a couple of months now. I think it was in December when I had rebooted or shut them down. Mostly because I am running a server too. Yes, my electricity bill is decently high lol.

I'll ask the Jupitermedia forum manager (Joe) to look into this deeper.

Re: weird cookie issues with this site and firefox
I mentioned it in post #2 but it still happens to me every so often for the unmarked read threads. Dont know if the others are following those suggestions though.
I have issues with visiting a link a member posts and its pointing to a vbf thread and it sometimes presents the login boxes like I was a guest :eeh: but overall its not too often or a big deal.
