Thread: Is JAVA still in demand

    Hi,

    Since lot of dot.com companies are closing with java programmers having to face the situation where there is surplus of JAVA programmers compared to JAVA openings.

    I like comment on this.As I was about to pursue JCP.

    Naaaaaaah. ALGOL is where it's at.

    Seriously:
    Cross-Platform Portability, Scalability and not to mention other reasons why it was first developed (embedded apps) are not going away, so I don't think Java is going away.

    I just saw an ad for some "Java Platform" on a keychain that allows secure access to areas requiring secuity.

    what about the dot.coms

    what about the closure of many dot.coms ,won't it create surplus,won't the companys prefer who already got exposure and had worked for big companys...

    I don't know about that. where i live, whenever i look in the newspaper the java programmers are usually the most wanted, and most paid.

    Don't worry about that. All the Java programmers that ever get laid off are quickly employed by other companies that need their skills. Java is still in demand for the years to come.
