    That's annoying. The upgrade must have changed it. What's the use of a post tag if it does not open the post

    Anchors are all very well but if you scroll before the page is complete you don't get the effect.

    Maybe it was a custom thing we had in our 3.0.7, because showthread.php seems to have be the default all along. I just checked a whole bunch of 3.0.x forums.
