    Angry

In case you missed the news Napster has only 1-2 days left of life unless they get an emergancy injunction to keep from getting shut down. So I am letting everyone know that if there is music you want you better get it now before it is too late.

I have 2600 MP3 up 24/7 on a T-1 so add oOTECHOo to your hotlist and download like there is no tomorrow.........because for napster there isn't.

Cheers for that, I didn't realise....

What are the popular alternatives going to be do you think?

Its going to be something that is built around the Gnutella code. So it will be free, real peer-peer, and no user database. I have used most of them and thus far most of them suck. But since most of them are open source they are growing by leaps and bounds. I dont think it will be to much longer before they are faster and eaiser to use. Right now bearshare (whish they did not name it that, or have that fruity icon) is the best alt to napster I have found.

How long is it going to be before the RIAA starts suing Sony and JVC for making tape recorders and CD burners? This is so ridiculous.

I don't think they'll do that because it's probably as ineffectual as BT trying to claim royalties on hyperlinks.

I just download bear share, thanks to Technocrat's suggestion. Its pretty good actually. Pretty fast search on my 56k. I will probably use it from now on, unless there is another peer-to-peer that will give me world domination.

    Just my $0.9 worth.

    www.weirdo.com

    enjoy

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

Pretty damn close. I forgot to put in my disclaimer, 24/7 barring any unforeseen events.

If you are referring to 8-8:15 Pacific time I had to restart my internet severs which would have dropped me from napster.

If you dont see me on your hotlist its prob. due to you are on a different Napster cluster than me. If you disconnect and reconnect a couple of times you will eventually find me. You also have to put my name in exactly as I spelled it. Napster's hotlist is case sensitive.

There's an interesting post about Napster, just up today, at www.coldhate.com . It's a metal site, in case you were wondering about the URL, but the guys that write the site know their music and they write well. It's interesting to read what they make of this Napster malarkey anyway.
