Database Codebank

What would our chances be at getting a Database Codebank? I could see it as a handy place to store database related items (like the FKey listers I just posted in the "Other Codebank"). Then again, it could be crazy talk.

I think we have enough forums, and not many people post database related code in the CodeBank anyways...

I would have not agreed to the new "Codebank - Game Programming" forum, but I did not say anything about it, since I'm not in charge here to decide what goes here or not. (And I found out about it after it was created.)

There are too many forums, right now, I see people confuzed on where to post. And on subjects like this, we probably won't have many posts in that forum.

For example, I think the "VBForums UtilityBank" could be deleted, and all threads to be moved in the CodeBank forums.
The last post in the UtilityBank was on 12-22-2005, and before that on 11-08-2005, and before that on 10-17-2005.
That's like one post per month...

Probably the database forum will be more popular, but not by much from my point of view.

Utility bank is for tools and utilities, so it is not expected to have that many posts. Those are items people can download and use.

Codebank is not a place for discussions, but rather a place to place code to share with others, as such, it is different from the regular forums.

There is a discussion occurring on whether the above two sections should be collapsed down. That would make the front index page smaller, but would require an extra click for people going ot those sections for resources.

As to the Game area.... We already had a demo area, so there were already items that would fill a games codebank. I don't want to start any other new ones at this time.

If some super duper mod wants some help from an old "retarded" mod to find out what threads should be moved from the demo section to the game section then give me a call, and I can see what I can do. Don't think anyone know that section better then me anyway these days. I have looked at the "CodeBank - Other" and can only see 2 DB related threads, and as such don't really see the need for a separate "CodeBank - Database" forum.

As RobDog suggested, you can post to the DB FAQ if you like (instructions at the bottom of the FAQ, or in the FAQ forum), however this isn't quite the same as it is meant for frequent questions.

Due to the small size of the DB FAQ tho, I think it would be appropriate to have a section in it which links to each of the relevant CodeBank posts. How does that sound?

One suggestion I would have however, is to take a look at the thread titles in CodeBank other by MadBoy. All of the threads titles start with [DELPHI] so it is readily apprant what language is being used.

Why not start all of the db threads in CodeBank Other with [Database - SQL Server] or [Database - Oracle]?
