The icons seem the same size as always to me.. Even if I increase the windows icon size to 50, only the desktop icons change.. Are you possibly using a theme or skinning tool that changes the size? That could also relate to your improper resize effect as well.. (I am using non-standard resolution as well - 1680x1050 - My screen's native)
