Insert new row issue in excel 2000
i got issue in excel, can't insert new row
the error said
to prevent possible lost of data, MS Excel cannot shift nonblank cells of the worksheet
try to delete or clear the cells to the right and below your data.then select cell a1, and save your workbook to reset the last cell used
or, u can move the data to a new location then try again
what is it means?
first it can insert 4 rows, after that the error comes up..but if i delete 1 row then insert another..it's ok..
thx

Re: Insert new row issue
Wild guess, no expert on Excel.
Do the cells involved contain formulas, or do cells elsewhere depend on the values in those cells?. I'd think that would just give you invalid values in those cells rathet than preventing you from changing them, but maybe there's a security setting?
As an aside, when you (or others) post, would you please indicate which Office app you're using in the subject title? Thanks.

Re: Insert new row issue
It sounds as though there is some rogue information at the bottom of the spreadsheet which when attempting to insert additional rows it is trying to force information off the end of the spreadsheet..
Try highlighting all the rows after your last row of data and then press delete.

yes..but from same sheet..just using simple SUM formula
...,but maybe there's a security setting?
no..i'll already check that..no VBA's code either
Try highlighting all the rows after your last row of data and then press delete.
not working if u used delete, but if used rightclik at leftmost column then choose delete..it can work but only insert the same row as the row that been deleted..
is it possible that caused it because too many rows?
it has more than ten thousand rows (10,741)
