Microsft Certifice DBA for SQL Server 2000

    Hi friends,

I want to be microsoft certified DBA for SQL Server 2000, i have gone through differents web sites where i found that there will be 4 exams where 3 are core and 1 is optional which is Windows server 2003. Any one who passed this examination can guide me how to start preparation for exam and can refer books for all four exams, or any websites. Thanx in advance.

The windows server 2003 exam is not easy - lots of fine points about firewalls, server settings, authentication, group policy creation - things that have nothing to do with SQL (that's for sure).

I would suggest installing and managing your own server 2003 a few times in addition to the study guides suggested. Hands on experience is much more valuable then book studying.

Usually the test do follow the subject but they usually throw in a few off topic questions. Like I took the SQL Server 2000 Designing and Implementing Databases and they have questions on the usual esign issues and logic but also had questions on installation, optimizations, and performance issues to debug.

Thanks all of you great guys, here as szlamany has raised a point on windows server 2003 exam, it is an optional subject, not core as sql sever 2000. I think there should be an exam regarding windows server 2003 just for interaction with sql server 2000. Because Network Administrator is totally a different and full time job.
