I just Wrote a Demo Program that uses a Rich Text Box
Control. The Interesting Part is..When the RTB control is
not installed in the system or missing...This program
will search for the RTB control in all your Drives and If
found will register the control for you. It can Even let
You download the control from a Website if you don't
    have it in your System.

My Question is...Do any of you have an Idea of How
    it was done ?

You can Download the Program itself :
    Attached Files Attached Files

There was this peice of code to searches you whole harddrive(s) for *.mp3, this could be eaily changed, and when the path is returned just register the program from there, as for the download i dont the the trouble in this, just use and Inet control to download the control, just be a bit bummed if the download location changes hehe

    Wink

    Chenko .... Read it properly...

I am Not asking for a Solution..

I have a Solution....I just Want to know whether
you could appreciate the need for it or not ?

Suppose You develop a Program that has
an RTB control and at the client side...If the
RTB control is not Installed or is missing or
the location is changed what will happen
to your Program when it is started ?

    .... CRASH...

So.. I have developed a Solution that
Instead of Crashing will act Intelligently.
    To Test what...I am Saying...

Download My Program.... and Before You start
My Program Move the Richtx32.ocx from your
System Directory to some other folder.
    Watch how the Program Reacts.!

If alteast some people ask me to post
    the source code ... I will do....Else..I don't want
to make an ******* out of Myself !
