VB5 Learning Edition Patch
Is there a patch for VB5 Learning Edition that will allow me to choose Native or P-Code compiler options rather than just have P-Code with that project property locked out?

Re: VB5 Learning Edition Patch
Although I have never used it I wouldn't think there ever was its' a "Learning Edition".

Re: VB5 Learning Edition Patch
Perhaps you can still Order the VS 97 SP3?
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=h...365%2fen-us%2f
There may be a fix for it in the list of addressed issues.
Other then that the only solution would be to get VB 6 or VB 8.

Try eBay and get a copy of VB5/VB6 Pro. That will be a very good investment, if you manage to find a copy.
According to statistics, VB6 is still the most widespread programming language in the world, followed by Java. In spite of this, you can't get it from MS.

Re: VB5 Learning Edition Patch
Then you going to need one of those defibulators to revive VB5 as its clinically dead now.
So, then I guess I'll see you in the VB.NET forum posting about DX
Let us know if you are able to get any info about VS 97 SP3.

I never owned VS 97. VB5 Learning Edition was sold separately.

True but like most of the VS suite apps, the SP still applies to the individule apps AFAIK.

Oh please ... most of the features are turned off - that's the difference and there is no way you can turn them on.

Actually I was after speeding up my exes by compiling them to native code rather than pcode. I wasnt bothered by file sizes.

Actually there could be significant difference in the exe size between Native and P-Code. "Natively" compiled EXEs are larger files.

It's worth it in the end.
