[RESOLVED] Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
Sorry again not a vb question!
I have a Router and Wireless LAN(WLAN)
1 x PC connected via Cable to WLAN
1 x Laptop connected Via NETGEAR Wireless Card
2 x PC's With IEEE 802.11g 54Mbps Wireless Lan PCI Adapter cards
Trying and failing badly at connecting these to New PC to WLAN
My laptop is picking up My ArcorWirelessLAN and nothing else and works fine
2 x PC's are picking up 4 other networks but not My ArcorWirelessLAN
Why?
Note: Didn't set the origonal PC and Laptop a German Engineer did as it was all in German!
Thx

You may want to post that in General PC forum.

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
Your network is probably set us so only people specifically looking for it can see it, and in this case it is sort of "invisible" and will most likely have an encryption key.
I have no suggestions at this moment though, just adding to whats (not) been said so far.

I did.
Did you set up a unique SSID and have each of the wireless cards set to use it?

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
I tried connection to all but nothing! I find it strange that my laptop has only one connection showing yet the 2 x PC have 4
I have put in the network key and set up SSID but nothing.
When the engineer was here He was on a web brouser with about twenty textboxies on it I thout he was accessing the router or Modem or somthin
Any way I configerud the LAPTOP by putting in IP Address in the TCP/IP and it connected
Havent got a clue!

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
He probably did access the router/modem, and to me it sounds that your router doesn't have DHCP installed and that the IP you typed in was to manually negotiate one for your Laptop.
Can you find that number you typed in ?
Try that in your web browser on your laptop and see what happens. (It may well bring the routers configuration up)
If it connects to the router, try the same thing manually on each of your desktop's.
You might be surprised.

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
as crazy as this might sound, if i were you i would call the wireless card company. Ive done that twice and they always have told me how to fix it. Usually there is no wait on the phone too. Try it out!

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
Thats a good sign you know, ok.
Can you get the model number and make of the Router ?
I have no idea what the password would be, and i guess it would be in german as well, which would make things all the more difficult.
This is where my help has to end i'm afraid, for a german speaking VBF member to take over ?

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
By default the username is admin, and the password is 1234. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
I suppose you could try that

So you have all the details to login, but its not working ?
Are you sure they are the correct detaisl, and that you are entering them case sensitively ?
If you are, and are certain it is correct tehn try looking into your browsers cookie settings, otherwise, tell us what happens when you try logging in with the password ? Does a page appear ? Does it ask you for them again ? or does it thorw a 4.3: Forbidden ?

Re: Wireless problems..(Not vb question)...
No problems, but that router seems awfully pricey to not have its own DHCP server... Hmm.
