AIM Triton Problem!!!
i can manage to install and run aim triton easibly, but the problem is when im trying to log in!
when i enter my login details and press login, it loads up and then it says "validating..." this is where the problem comes in: it makes me wait for hours (exaggeration- more like 15 minutes or so) and then it says i cant connect or something. this has nothing to do with my internet because i can get in normal aim without any problems, but i want to know a way to get around this; and a reason why its happening.
everyone i know can get it working without any problems!

Did you delete any of the files that is installs in your My Documents directory? Namely one that was a configuration settings file?

Maybe you should use GAIM or Trillian?
I've used trillian for years never have a problem with it.

Re: AIM Triton Problem!!!
if your using a software firewall ( ZoneAlarm for example) try making sure it is allowing Triton to access the internet

@gamermax5 im not sure what you're refering to, but no, i did not delete anything in my documents because i didnt think i'd need to? why did u suggest such an idea?
@killerdragon yeah i already downloaded and installed trillion, its not bad at all.
@dark_shadow well i did have norton personal firewall, but i have tried disabling it and disabling norton antivirus + norton firewall, but it did nothing but speed up the waiting time after saying "validating..." ending up saying unable to connect.

Because I installed Triton and it placed some configuration files in my My Documents folder. I deleted them because I didn't know what they did and here it was a file that was used by Triton to Logon. That's why I suggested it.

Re: AIM Triton Problem!!!
I think the problem is with Norton IS. It probably doesn't shut down entirely.
Make sure that your app is allowed to run by it.

Re: AIM Triton Problem!!!
~POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO FIXING THE "VALIDATION" SCREEN HANG~
You probably have Nero 7 installed, AND you might have the version 7.0.1.2 upgrade. Go to: ftp://ftp1.usw.nero.com/software/ner..._eng_no_yt.exe (Or Nero's site for the upgrade for version 7.0.1.4) Wait for hours till it downloads and installs. Restart your computer or whatnot, and then try AIM Triton.
Please email me at [email protected] and tell me if this solution worked, since it worked for me. But PLEASE email me; I just want to see if this helped people. Thanks!
