Replace WinKey Hotkeys in XP (ie. Win+F)

I am acustomed to Linux and its environment that using Windows for anything but gaming seems like a big encumberson task... Anyway I'd like a way to map shortcuts like I do in Linux.

    Example:
    WinKey+F = Firefox
    WinKey+X = Emacs
    WinKey+W = Mp3 Player
    WinKey+E = Home/Explorer
    WinKey+T = Terminal/DPrompt

You see where this is going... You also should see the problem.

Windows XP no where allows easy hotkey to application binding. It allows hotkeys for shortcuts but I couldn't get that to work at all. Whenever windows does allow a hotkey to be set it never allows the WinKey to be used. Also, a lot of the hotkeys I want to change are already doing something like:
WinKey+F = FInd Files but I want it to open Firefox.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,
    Halsafar

You can make a program to watch for that key keycombo. You also may have to remap the windows key.
I'm sure someone allready made it just google it.

I suppose I could subclass the keyboard, deal and toss the message before windows gets it?
Still simpler to just find it already made.

Depends on the keyboard manufacturer. Some will provide apps (from their support site) which allow these kinds of assignments. Good luck
