screen resolution question...

I have dual monitors set up. I am building a website, and have a main table with width = "100%". on my 1280*1024 monitor the table fits in the window perfectly, however on my 1024*768 monitor it goes off the edges???

If the table width is set to 100% then shouldn't it fill the window whatever the screen resolution. But it goes off the edges on the smaller screen???

This happened to me too. I changed 100% to 750, but then it varies from computer resolution. But the thing is people usually use 1024*768 or 800*600, that table width 750 fits both of them. But I don't know maybe others would have better idea about this.
