What is HID
Dear Sirs
I would like to know what about HID(HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES).
The net definition says:
"A human interface device or HID is a type of computer device that interacts directly with and takes input from humans, such as the computer keyboard, computer mouse, joystick, graphics tablet, and the like. The term was coined by Microsoft. "
My question is are these HIDs only for USB type devices or for all types.
For example
They say example of HID is keyboard. wat type of Keyboard
--USB Keyboard
--or the traditional ones
--or both
Please let me know!!!
A much more precise definition would be appreciated
Thank you

Re: What is HID
This question has really nothing todo with VB so it doesn't really belong in this forum, there is a General PC forum available here and these kind of questions should be posted there .
All hardware you use to interact with the computer is considered to be a HID. It has nothing todo with the USB or any other interface or bus. You use the keyboard as an input device regardless if you have it connected to an USB or a PS2 connection.

Re: What is HID
ANY form of input device, whether it be USB PS/2 Serial Port, Infra-red (i doubt it though) or even things like GAME.
Just thought i'd point out that Tocuh screens and speech recognition are also forms of HID
