    Cool

Here we go, this thread could be very interesting!

What I'd like you to do is to post your full name, and then tell us all of the history or meaning of the aforementioned names (if you know it).

    I'll start off..

    Full Name...Jonathan Ross Cowie

History....My first name comes from an Anglisization of the Hebrew "Yonatan" (recognise it???), and means "Gift of God". I have no clue about my middle name. My last name comes from the name of a town in Banffshire (Grampian, Scotland) called Cowie, which is where my father's side of the family are originally from. It was a small fishing village, and my fathers ancestors moved up north to teach Highlanders about fishing, after the end of the clearances.

    Anyone else???

I am the Behemoth from the book of Job. It's an ancient hebrew word which has been taken to mean any large land animal, possibly a hippopotamus.

    so now you know...

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

My full name is Jon Boyer Mooty (and believe me everyone of them gets misspelled everytime). The only interesting one is my middle name which is the same as my dad's (he is Jimmy Boyer), and my grandparents got that name from the side of Cattle Truck Jimmy Boyer Cattle and since then every male Mooty's middle name starts with a B (2 of them being Boyer). Interesting thing about my last name is that there are only around 200 Mooty's in the US (at last check) and I guarantee I'm related to everyone of them, personally I think some Moody down the line got in trouble with the law and changed his last name to Mooty to avoid detection.

    this is wat i got

KEITH "wood" or "wind" (Celtic), from a Scottish surname. This was the surname of a long line of Scottish earls.

SIMON "hearkening" or "listening" from Hebrew shim'on. The New Testament presents Simon as the most important of Jesus' apostles. He was called Peter by Jesus. This is also the name of several other characters in the Bible.
