    Resolved [RESOLVED] Somethings crashing my machine

    When I look in the Events Viewer I found the ff. error:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: TlntSvr
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 4053
    Date: 12/30/2005
    Time: 12:08:42 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: SERVER
    Description:
    WSAGetLastError() returned error: An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used.

    Anyone who can tell me a solution? I am not sure what is TlntSvr...

    It’s not necessarily a virus TlntSvr is the MS Telnet Server as RD’s second link says. So if you installed it there’s no problem. You should probably run a virus scan just in case…

    Yeah Rob's second link also says
    This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.


    Back to ontopic...
    Goto Start -> Run and type services.msc
    Look for telnet server or something similar, and Right click it properties, and in the drop down box where it says something like Automatic Manual and Disable chose Disable.

    This is interesting as I have never heard of Telnet causing this kind of problem before.

    I am not sure but perhaps I have installed something which is causing Telnet to have problems or there is really a virus in my machine, I haven't scanned yet...
