I am developing an application with ASP.NET and when I opened my project after copying it from some other PC, it was unable to find the web sharing I previously made hence I opened my Internet Information Service and created a web sharing. Now, my project is shared on my local network and anyone can access the files and can copy or delete or whatever he wants. I took properties of my project folder and checked for Sharing. Folder is not shared rather its web sharing is created through IIS.
When I open my My Network Places, I found on root "XYZ on localhost" where XYZ is the name of my Project as well as web sharing.
sorry but i aint that good at reading long paragraphs. do you meen that you'r network places folder looks kind of like attached image and you want to get rid of it?
If there is only one perfect person in the universe, does that make them imperfect?
if you want to remove it from the "My Network Places" folder then you can right click on it and click delete (it may move the shortcut to recycle bin). if that does not work for some reason then you can go to "C:\Documents and Settings\(Username)\Nethood\" and delete it from there.
hope this helps.
