vba outlook and ms access

Hey everyone

I would like to add a button to outlook express that will check the current email message for its sender and will look for it in an access table:

1. can I automate outlook express like automating outlook?
2. how do I add a button?
3. how do I compare the current message sender to an access table?

I'd appricieate your help on this!

You can automate Outlook, but not Outlook Express. RobDog has posted a lot of code for automating Outlook using VB. Is that what you want to do?

2. how do I connect outlook to MS access table - I'd like to search an MS access table containing email addresses for the current message recipent in outlook.

1. Use the CommandBars collection to add a new button to an existing menu or toolbar.
2. Use ADO to connect to Access and search for the email address that you pass in the querystring.

Its a bit lengthy but we have a tutorial in the VB FAQ Forum. To connect to your Inbox you can use the Outlook Object Model. Search by my username and Outlook for several code examples on the forums.
