I'm new at all this stuff !! Can someone tell me how to write the code to get the digital information converted by an analog board onto a VB form. I want the analog board to be attached to the parallel port of my pc and I want to read a temperature. I'm unclear as to how this is accomplished.

It seems as if you had a little confusion here: the information should enter the PC already in digital form, (not analog, as I seem to imply from your post)
If you already have an analog to digital converter, you can attach it to your parallel port and read it with a simple routine. I can look in a magazine I have if your'e interested.
The port disregards the 3 less significant bits, and there is a polarity inversion in one of them, so it's not straitforward, but not difficult at all to arrange.
Be clear you have only 5 inputs in a standard parallel port, so you'll have to read the byte in two steps by multiplexing if you want 8 bits resolution.
However lif you want more resolution, say 12 or even 16 bits, you'll have to work a little more with your board.
Also you need a DLL named input32 (or another similar).
Post here if you want more help.
