    Dropped hard-drive -help!

    alright so i have a 100gig internal hd in a usb case. i had it hooke dup to the computer and someone had knocked it off. now i imagine it took a hard fall, my mom told me she knocked it off when i got up. it seemed like it was all togher and it'll all be fine.....BUT

    i plug it in and nothing. nothing nothing. not even reconized. my question is how can i get that information back out of the hd. i thought maybe it was just the usb case that had be broken, but i took the hd out and put it into my computer internaly, still no luck.

    please i need to that hd was eveything...it school work - work work, lesuire fun stuff, music. everything. and if anyone can help it'd be greatly apperciated.

    Does it spin in your computer?

    yeah loud noisy...ill try again tommorw and let you know what else it does.

    If it is truly important to you - and money is no option...

    Then do not put it in your computer again.

    www.grc.com does "software" level harddrive recovery (lost files - stuff like that).

    "hardware" level is probably much more expensive and difficult to come by.

    alright thanks for the info, i checked out that spinrite 5. there was acopy at the office, looks confusing i read alittle bit but i dont think this is what i am aiming for. i am really begging to think that it's all just gone, and i have to move on. i heard hardware recovry is up in the 1000's of $$...it alright tho, thanks! - justin
