Company Christmas Party's
Do you go them?
I started this job 6 months ago. I'm the only developer and the only time I talk to other people is when I'm working on a project for them. To make matters worse, I'm single; so I would be going stag.
I don't want to be rude and say no, but at the same time; it seems like it would be extremely akward if I did. So I'm up in the air about the whole thing.

Or build one
Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you just water down your vodka.
Take credit, not responsibility

If by 'stag' you mean: "Someone who applies for a new issue of shares intending to sell them (for a quick profit) as soon as market dealings commence." Your company will not like that.
On the other hand if you meant: "Peace and Harmony, also Purity and Fleetness" then you shouldn't go. People like that aren't interesting at parties. They just bring the mood down.

So I should go to the company's christmas party only if I'm pissed off about holding my shares. Got it.

Exactly. And be sure to drink a few rounds (at least 8) before talking to your boss about the shares

So should I bring it up before or after I ask his wife to do body shots with me?

Re: Company Christmas Party's
I once went to an office gathering, where there were two rows of tables. One half of the company stayed on each side of the line. It was the strangest thing that I'd ever seen. Of course that job was also the strangest one that I'd even worked at.
Nothing good usually comes from associating with people that you don't like in the first place!

Truer words have never been said.
I'm done for the night though, later all.

1) Bring a large bag, or a bunch of re-sealable containers.
2) Take ALL the food you can get your hands on.
3) Leave.
4) Don't bother with shopping until all the food has been eaten.
This also works for wedding receptions, especially if you don't know anybody there.
My usual boring signature: Nothing
