Best Archiving/Compression/Zip Program

What is your opinion on the best archiving/compression/Zip type program?
Anything that you have to pay for would have to do something special to be better than the free stuff.

I have tried IZarc http://www.izarc.org/ and ZipGenius http://www.zipgenius.it recently but I am currently using TUGZip http://www.tugzip.com/

All three of these are free and all support 7-Zip, RAR and Zip, however, IZarc doesn't look as pretty as it could and ZipGenius has some issues with complicated archives that contain other archives and folders etc

Does anybody use anything better than TUGZip?

I've only ever really used winrar, tugzip looks interesting I'll have to check it out...

I like using WinZip as its widely used and free if you dont mind the nag screen.

WinZip is technically not freeware, you certainly can't use it in a company without paying for it.
It also only supports a couple of formats.
Zip is quite a poor archiving algorithm these days compared to the likes 7-Zip and RAR

Hmm, guess I am behind the times. We used it all the time past its trial period at my old job. Heck they still have it on the swerver too.

I used to too but we recently had an IT audit and everyone with an unlicenced version of WinZip got slapped on the wrist
Thats why I am looking at freeware versions.
I'm also coming to the conclusion that paying for an archiving utility is not worth it due to the sheer quality of the freeware!

on linux, my favourite tools are tar and gzip, since they're easy to use from the command line.
