Creating Forums
I haven't looked into this much. I have heard I shouldn't attempt to create my own forum.
To me it seems like a lot of work but it does not seem impossible.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: Creating Forums
You would have to know how a forum works.
It's not to much work, it just takes time. I have started to make one, you can download it off my site Serversoft.
Do you know any scripting langauges like PHP/ASP/JS?

Re: Creating Forums
k1ll3rdr4g0n right I know a little ASP, VBscript, JavaScript. I'm a big VB guy and am the only person involved in projects at my work so I have an idea of how I want to handle this in code. But with my limited knowledge of web things I'm thinking of the best route to get the job done.
Hack - Thanks for the link I'll check it out!

Re: Creating Forums
One of my biggest questions is which would be a better idea :
A) Use a database
B) Save changes to asp or php sheet?

Re: Creating Forums
Use a databse no doubt. MySQL is pretty popular no a days (and its free + open source) except its under a weird license >.>.
If you want to take a look at other open source forums try http://www.opensourcecms.com/ .
