Re: Play video file by using Real Player
You can im afraid. Real player is one of the players that has not got ativeX plugins that are used by browsers
(reason being is that the only ones it does have are used for the vast amount of spyware it carries.... what a waste of a good program..)
so you have to download this rather than just play and go.
(see above reason why...)
if your using other players such as flash players, or media player, this is visable as your already aware kenny..
Hope this helps

Re: Play video file by using Real Player
If it is a RAM file, it will open in RealAudio, when they click on it, unless they opt to save it to disk before playing.

They could still save it. It doesn't open in anything other than RealAudio, though.

Re: Play video file by using Real Player
I know..
thats the pain in teh A$$ thing. real player might be an atually good peice of kit to have installed if id didnt aloow itself to get crapped up with all that spyware, Ad crap and other useless stuff it comes with. Dont you agree DG?
Unless Microsoft might wanna oblige by making Media player RAM compat.. (Hint hint. Billy Boy!!!!)

Re: Play video file by using Real Player
I use it without problems. Mostly, I don't download any new files for it, and when I do, I log on as a user to prevent spyware from installing. I also have my computer locked down pretty tight.

Good point. But a bit overkill and from the average home users point of view who usually doesnt have the common sense to do this though.....
I think its best left alone, but at your own risk.....
