Things are dull at work today so here you go..

    · Professional development - keeping up to date with emerging technologies and becoming proficient in the useful ones while maintaing a life and working.
    · The emergence of Linux on the corporate desktop.
    · Career path opportunities, ours is a rapid paced and highly mobile industry, the key to success being able to forecast future IT directions and being able to reinvent yourself when necessary.
    · Anti-trust laws.
    · Privacy and security of data holdings and free data sharing.
    · The way we interact with technology ie internet enabled cars and fridges, how this will affect our lifestyles.
    · The emergence of a new underclass of people, non computer literate and people unable to afford a PC in the home who will be deprived of information and therefore opportunities.

    Red face My Personal Opinion

    Hey.
Well you know what, I think since Microsoft is programming most of the softwares, which are compatibale with IBM, INTEL, and etc... they are making the big sales and since they are popular and most of people trust them. Although those people who don't trust them are forced to use the software because there is more information about them to know, 99% of people are using IBM systems run by microsoft products and the future, which can follow. Example all of us! We are all trying to learn programming and most of us already know VB and trying to learn C++ or VC++. Well if you think about you can clearly see these are microsoft products and they can produce softwares, which can be used by microsoft softwares.
Anyhow I can go on and on and on talking how microsoft has limited our imagination.

But the bottom line is "HOW TO COME UP WITH NEW IDEAS AND HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE TRUST THEM AND HOW TO SELL THEM WITHOUT MICROSOFT GETTING IN THEIR WAY."

I be more than happy to discuss this with others and get to know about their opinion as well. SO please participate and maybe we came up with an idea to overcome microsoft (RIGHT!)
