PhotoShop Tutorials for hopeless graphics-guy (me)

Ok, let me start off by saying that I have the natural artistic ability of 6 week old labrador puppy. So I am in need of some simple help.

Even with the above statement in mind, I would like to start playing around with graphical design for some sites that I have been asked to build - not much, just one or two top banners.

Anyway, I have now got Adobe Photoshop. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do jack. I have set the size of the image etc... but that is it. Everytime I add something here, or there, i just get more and more confused.

So, does anybody on here know of any good Photoshop tutorials that guide you through creating simple graphics? Top Banners, menu bars etc...

Any help, and i mean ANY would be appreciated.

    thanks.

First of all, try to get layers down, photoshop is just like a nicer mspaint with layers and special effect add ons.

I have taken a year coarse and feel free to ask anything about it, and for anyone else, I do art for websites and games for nothing more than the credit.
