Windows scripting

Does anyone know whether it is possible and how to go about writing scripts which can control machines on a NT/Win9x network to do things like put a shortcut on the other machine or map network drives.
Any help would be most gratefully received.

Add a reference to Windows Script Host Object Model and take a look at it in the object browser -- it has what you are looking for. You can also write Windows Scripts using this library that can be executed on the clients' machines. They need to have the Windows scripting host installed.
