Widescreen TV For Moniter
Alright we just bought a widescreen tv for use with a computer in our showroom. The only resolution I can use is 1024 X 768, why? The tv has a 16 X 9 screen, but only acepts a 4 X 3 resolution??? Well as you can imagine the image is streched. Is there any way I can fix this?

Re: Widescreen TV For Moniter
Another thing would the connection have anything to do with this? Right now I am using just a moniter cable. But the computer also has a dvi output on it, would I be better off using the dvi?

Not had a whole lot of experience with this, but I know at home I use the s-vidio connection which works well.

Re: Widescreen TV For Moniter
I do it at home as well and I can set any resolution I want, so I don't know if its the tv or what. Butr everytime I change the resolution to something other than 1024 X 768 the screen goes black and it shows a message "Invalid Format". I dont get it!!!

Re: Widescreen TV For Moniter
I'm not sure, but I'd say that's the native resolution of the TV. That's why if you use an analog signal it'll work, but digital won't.

You need a graphics card that supports HD, preferebly with 3 outputs, for R,G,B.

Re: Widescreen TV For Moniter
Well I can do it just fine on my plasma using only the moniter cable, of course the dvi cable makes the picture alot better.
I still think its just the tv, or some setting that I'm missing.

Are they both HD TV's? This maybe a stupid question, but did you check the manual?

Re: Widescreen TV For Moniter
It's the computer, the video card and the driver that is the problem - not the monitor...
