    Re: Viewsonic LCD Monitor

My friend just bought a Dell system with a monitor like that, except that it had the tv tuner built in. I'd go that route, especially if you plan to wall mount it.
Always nice to be able to tune in to a game at the flick of a switch.

Of course if you have something that has RGB outputs, that would work as well.
My DVD Recorder has RGB. I'm waiting before I buy an LCD though. Prices are still too high for the big ones, and the HD thing hasn't been resolved yet. Just extended the deadline to 2007, I heard.

    Re: Viewsonic LCD Monitor

Well this one is strictly for computer use, no tv tuner stuff and none wanted. I think its the lowest price I have seen for a big brand label. I was more wondering if the contrast, brightness, etc. specs were decent for the price. I would imaging that its good since its only $199 no mail-in rebates or anything.

Ps, I dont need to replace my Sony 32" TV yet so I am only thinking of getting LCDs for the kids and my wife.

Can't say much on that model, but I've been a big fan of theirs for years, and they've always been top notch for me. If ever you have to call them support is decent, though it may take some time to get a human on the phone.

    Re: Viewsonic LCD Monitor

Well for the kids (3 of them) its a great deal as they dont need high performance. Hopefully their video cards can support the monitor. My wife will need a bit more performance out of a LCD then the kids so I am mostly concerned about that.

I'm going to have to get 4 LCDs and I dont even get to upgrade my 18" or get a dual monitor.

I use a Sharp which is similar quality to ViewSonic, I don't know what the prices are like over there, but over here Sharp's are much cheaper.

    Re: Viewsonic LCD Monitor

HA! Turns out that it was a mis-print in the Ad, should have been $229, but they had to honor my request at $199. This is the best price around for a 17" let alone even a 15". No mail in rebates either.

So I bought 4 and stuck it to the man!!!
