    [RESOLVED]Linksys WPC5G

I just got a Linksys WPC54G (version 3) card and am trying to get it to install on XP Home with SP2 installed. I get a code 10 error. Any help??

Do you have Administrative privileges? What does the error message say?

Couldn't find anything about it on linksys.com.
Maybe you should call them. Have you downloaded the setup tool that they just came out with? It resolved a problem that I was having configuring the device once.

Well, I tried a different wireless card today. I borrowed a Orinoco card and got the same message after uninstalling all the Linksys software and then installing the Orinoco software. I'm beginning to wonder if my PCMICA card slot is bad????

Check Systenm Devices, in Device Manager for anything that has a yellow exclamation or a red stop.

Look for the CardBus Device Controller under PCMIA.

You might not have the correct driver for the device. My laptop has a Microsoft Driver installed. You might try to update it.

The controller doesn't have any exclaimation points but the wireless card(s) did. I'm thinking of getting a usb adapter instead.

Download LinkSys's driver and setup tool. I think that will resolve the driver issue. I know that worked for me before.

I tried downloading the newest drivers and Setup from Linksys and still did not work. So I took that card back and got a USB adapter and it works great!
