How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
Hai,
I have 2 questions.
1. In OfficeXP MsWord we have the facility to set the Password to open the document throught Tools -->Options-->Securtiy Tab.
Similarly i need to know What's the way to set the password for the Word Document in Win98.
2. Is there any way to set password for a Floppy.
Thankyou,
Chock.

Re: How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
you mean to say how to do it under Office 2000 or Office 97 (generally installed by Win 98 users), then this is it:
Tool -> Options -> Save (tab)

Re: How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
1) The version of Windows is irrelevant, it is the version of Word (or Office, which Word is part of) that matters.
As far as I know, Harsh Gupta's method should work.
2) No.

Re: How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
Once the password is set, under any version of the OS and Word, the password follows the document to anywhere. You dont need to set it again and again if you move the doc to a system with a different version of Word.

Re: How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
Hi,
Sorry for the confustion, actually this question is from my friend,
Now the matter is clear here
The machine is loaded with Millenium, so now the requirement is to Save the Word Document in Millenium OS(i hope its Office 2000) with Password. Is it possible, he told there is no facility similar to the one we have in XP. Kindly reply the solution for this context.
Thankyou,
Chock

Re: How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
Once again, the version of windows has nothing to do with setting the password in Word. To set the password for a word document, got to the Tools menu in word itself whilst the document is open:
Tools > Options... > Security tab

Re: How to set password for Word Document in Win 98
Tools > Options... > Security tab is for 2003. Tool -> Options -> Save tab is for 2000. The user does have Word 2000?
